CYRUS successfully passes mid-term review

The mid-term review assessed the project’s progress in developing and delivering cybersecurity trainings for employees in a variety of job roles. These courses are designed to equip the workforce in the transport and manufacturing sectors with the knowledge and skills needed to identify and mitigate cyber threats. .

The CYRUS project partners met in Rome for the review of the project

During the review, project partners presented their findings, including an analysis of cybersecurity skill gaps in the two sectors, the identification of relevant cyber threat scenarios and the workforce profiles that would benefit from cybersecurity training.

Identified skill gaps include basics of cybersecurity and secure behaviour as well as principles of social engineering. The research also emphasised the need to foster a general cybersecurity culture across the entire workforce. This highlights the importance of providing training not only for technical specialists but also for non-technical roles.

As a result, the proposed trainings are designed for employees at all levels, including new entrants acquiring essential competencies (skilling), professionals and managers enhancing their expertise (upskilling and reskilling) to address existing and emerging sector-specific cybersecurity challenges.

The project partners also outlined their plans for the second half of the project. After completing all pilot trainings by the end of October, the project partners will evaluate the feedback and refine the trainings for the final delivery, scheduled for April 2025. This iterative process enhances the effectiveness and the impact of the final version of the trainings.
