Our new project partners

We are happy to announce that SEARCH-LAB and the Chamber of Halkidiki have joined the CYRUS project. They have been involved in CYRUS from the first quarter of 2024. Each organisation brings unique expertise to help boosting cybersecurity skills for the transport and manufacturing industries across Europe.

Introducing SEARCH-LAB Ltd. from Budapest, Hungary

Established in 1999 at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, SEARCH-LAB provides professional services for IT security auditing and testing, delivers IT security courses from introductory to advanced levels and participates in security, AI-driven source code fixing and test generation and robotics related R&D projects. Over the past two decades, SEARCH-LAB has gained international market recognition in security testing and evaluation of several different IoT and ICT products, including operating systems, mobile devices, DTV conditional access systems and various other embedded systems.

Their experience spans critical areas such as software security, malware analysis and secure product development. They also extended their research capabilities with machine learning and artificial intelligence topics and integrated everything into their cybersecurity solutions. This expertise is bolstered by their involvement in numerous European R&D projects.

As a spin-off from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and with strong academic ties, SEARCH-LAB is interested in training motivated secure coders. This is the reason why they founded SCADEMY. The SEARCH-LAB’s Secure Coding Academy (SCADEMY) provides tailored security courses to empower developers in secure coding practices.

“At SCADEMY we have a dream, a vision of a safe and secure IT world, where all software engineers will know how to write secure code. Joining the CYRUS project would enable us to teach even more people about our key interest: security,” emphasises Ákos Milánkovich from SEARCH-LAB.

Their dedication to cybersecurity education aligns well with the CYRUS project’s objective of improving cybersecurity skills across Europe. Within CYRUS, SEARCH-LAB can expand their educational impact, helping prepare the next generation of software engineers to meet the cybersecurity challenges of a digitally interconnected world.

In the CYRUS project, SEARCH-LAB takes on the responsibility of leading the development and delivery of training sessions, including training pilots and the final delivery. Leveraging their training experience, SEARCH-Lab will implement various cybersecurity courses that integrate project outcomes and teach practical skills to the broader community.

Introducing Halkidiki Chamber from Halkidiki, Greece

Established in 1991, the Halkidiki Chamber is an advisory and consultative body of the state with the purpose to protect and develop trade, industry, crafts and business within the interests of the national economy and its members. The Chamber plays a vital role in supporting local businesses in the trade, manufacturing, services, and tourism sectors, aiming to stimulate entrepreneurship and strengthen local businesses and the regional economy.

The Chamber’s activities are diverse, encompassing participation and advocacy in committees and boards, business support, event organisation and participation in EU funding initiatives. These efforts enable Halkidiki Chamber to stay updated on economic developments and adapt its services accordingly.

By joining CYRUS, the Halkidiki Chamber recognises an opportunity to further support its members and the whole region in an increasingly digital economy where cybersecurity plays a crucial role in business stability and growth. The Chamber’s participation will allow them to integrate advanced cybersecurity training methods into their resources, providing businesses with critical tools to identify, address and prevent cyber threats.

The role of Halkidiki Chamber in CYRUS centres on exploitation and sustainability, a task that involves ensuring the project’s outcomes have a lasting impact and reach beyond the project lifecycle. This includes creating frameworks to support the long-term adoption of CYRUS-developed cybersecurity trainings among local businesses, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Through this effort, Halkidiki Chamber aims to build stronger economic resilience and cyber awareness in the transport and manufacturing industries, which will ultimately strengthening the European economy.

Looking forward: a strong partnership for cybersecurity

The addition of SEARCH-LAB and the Halkidiki Chamber to the CYRUS project signifies a commitment to delivering cutting-edge cybersecurity training and resources across Europe. With SEARCH-LAB’s deep technical expertise and the Halkidiki Chamber’s strategic network and dedication to economic development, CYRUS is well-positioned to achieve its mission of enhancing cybersecurity education of the transport and manufacturing industries across Europe.

By collaborating, these new partners will contribute to a safer, more secure digital landscape, ensuring that European businesses, especially SMEs, can confidently navigate the complexities of cybersecurity in an era marked by rapid technological change.
