Introduction to cybersecurity

In today’s digital world, where technology permeates all aspects of our lives, cybersecurity is no longer just a priority but an absolute necessity. Modern cyberattacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated and harder to detect, with hackers continuously developing new techniques to bypass security measures and steal valuable data. Therefore, understanding the fundamentals of cybersecurity is crucial for anyone who uses digital technology, whether at work and in their personal life.

This e-learning course is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to protect against cyber threats. This training is specifically tailored to meet the needs of three key groups:

  • The railway sector – including operators and professionals working in areas such as railway maintenance and traffic control
  • The manufacturing sector – focusing on cybersecurity challenges specific to manufacturing and industrial environments
  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) – providing best practices for cybersecurity in business operations

The training focuses on:

  • Understanding basic cybersecurity concepts,
  • Practicing password hygiene to enhance account security.
  • Recognising ransomware and phishing attacks,
  • Identifying social engineering tactics and mitigating their impact,
  • Detecting suspicious emails.

Upon completing this training, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise and respond to cyber threats,
